How we research, write, review, and maintain the articles on this blog.

Who writes and reviews this content

Our articles are written and reviewed by the Inbox Ledger team. We build software that extracts invoices from email and reconciles them against accounting records, so the topics we cover — invoice capture, OCR and AI extraction, accounts payable, reconciliation, and accounting-tool integrations — are the work we do every day. Every article is reviewed by a team member familiar with the subject before it is published.

Sourcing and accuracy

When we state a fact, a statistic, a regulation, or a vendor detail, we link to a primary source where one exists — official product documentation, tax-authority guidance, or the original research. Figures that are estimates or illustrative examples are labelled as such rather than presented as cited data. We do not invent statistics, studies, quotes, or sources.

Honest comparisons and disclosure

Some articles compare tools in our category, and that set sometimes includes Inbox Ledger itself. When we mention our own product, we say so plainly and describe its limitations alongside its strengths. We do not use affiliate links disguised as recommendations.

Updates and corrections

Software interfaces, pricing, and tax rules change. We date each article and revise it when the underlying facts change, recording an updated date when we do. If you spot an error, tell us through the in-app support chat or the contact options in the footer and we will correct it.

Not professional advice

Our articles are general information about bookkeeping, tax recordkeeping, and accounting workflows. They are not tax, legal, or accounting advice. Rules vary by jurisdiction and change over time. For decisions specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.
